JRS Ireland is now seeking to recruit for the role of _Projects and
Outreach Support Worker._ This is a full time role (**Apply on the
website** hours per week) principally based in the Dublin area but
with travel throughout Ireland required. Initial contract is for

performance.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of the _Projects and Outreach Support
Worker _position is to support the development and delivery of
projects, outreach and other services in Direct Provision centres and
alternative accommodation locations in accordance with the needs of
residents and the strategic priorities for JRS Ireland.? Illustrative
duties are below:
* To support JRS Ireland staff, volunteers and interns in the
delivery of specific agreed projects, including the design,
coordination and provision of F?ilte Project and One-Stop-Shop
services at the Balseskin Reception Centre.
* To support delivery of existing and future projects/ activities in
Direct Provision centres and alternative accommodation locations
according to need and in consultation with your line manager.
* To assist with the planning and delivery of activities and other
initiatives as part of agreed JRS Europe and JRS International
projects, including the #CHANGE Project.
* To assess the needs of asylum seekers in order to identify gaps in
existing services for individuals, families and children and to
develop projects responding to priority needs.
* To support JRS Ireland staff in the provision of outreach,
accompaniment and integration supports to individuals, families and
children residing in Direct Provision centres and alternative
accommodation locations.
* To assist with the delivery regular information and advice
clinics.
* To manage JRS Ireland?s social media presence in consultation
with your line manager.
* To assist with JRS Ireland awareness raising and education
activities, including the JRS Ireland Intercultural & Interfaith
Calendar.
* To deliver the JRS Ireland Summer Programme, Christmas Toy Appeal
and other JRS Ireland activities as required.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
* A relevant third-level qualification in community development,
social work, social science or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.
* 1 year or more demonstrable work experience in a similar role.
* A full clean driving licence.
* An understanding and knowledge of the asylum process in Ireland,
the operation of the Direct Provision system and the integration of
migrants.
* Experience of working with vulnerable groups, social exclusion and
disadvantaged communities.
* Commitment to social justice and the JRS mission ?to accompany,
to serve and to advocate the cause of refugees and forcibly displaced
persons?.
